Dear Patriots - Your Lives Matter

Greetings, dear patriots!  I am compelled to write to you today because I see a great deal of despair among my brothers and sisters.  We live in a very trying and dangerous time.  Our country is being torn apart by violence, racism, threats from abroad, threats from within, and a deep uncertainty that is shaking many of us to the core.  The temptation to give up is great, and that saddens me.  I have heard the sentiments of many that they feel insignificant, and that they are not making a difference.  But I am writing today to tell you that you are making a difference, and that you matter.  You matter to me, and you matter to your loved ones.

Every one of you was put on this planet for a reason. Our Creator, in His infinite and matchless wisdom, had a reason for placing you here.  You were put here to touch people's lives, the lives of people who you may not ever know or meet. The impact you will have on the people around you may seem small or even unknown to you, and you may never know in this life how you impacted someone else.  But you will have an effect on someone and greatly affect their lives.

I personally believe that when you get to Heaven, someone you have never met will walk up to you and thank you for saving their life. You will get the "deer in the headlights" look on your face, and have no clue what they are talking about. Then it will be revealed to you that the kind word you uttered, the hot meal that you gave to the homeless person on the street, the extra tip that you left a server in a restaurant, or even just the five minutes that you took to listen to someone ended up being the turning point for them that lifted them up out of despair.

No matter how difficult life in these trying times is right now, no matter how tired and worn out you feel today, rise up and meet the day with the expectation that today might be the day that you serve that purpose and change another life.

None of you are insignificant. You all have a purpose. Your lives matter.

I will leave you with a quote that I shared with a very dear friend of mine. This quote means a lot to me and has sustained me in some painful times:

"The time may be delayed, the manner may be unexpected, but sooner or later, in some form or other, the answer is sure to come. Not a tear of sacred sorrow, not a breath of holy desire, poured out in prayer to God, will ever be lost; but, in God’s own best time and way, it will be wafted back again in clouds of mercy, and fall in showers of blessings on you and those for whom you pray."

Please pray for each other, and pray for our country.
